"This was incredible!" - BM

"Best show I’ve seen all year! Thank you for bringing compelling, enthralling, and transformative stories to the stage! I didn’t want it to end and the 90 minutes flew by all too quickly." - SH

"We loved it and had to see it twice! My new favorite Steve Yockey script." - NJ

"Got to see the closing production of Reykjavik by Steve Yockey at the Tempe Center for the arts. What a wonderful night at the theatre. Congrats to Ron May, the cast, crew and volunteers." - GE

"Really and truly - the best thing I have seen all year." - DB

"What a fantastically bizarre, sexy, and thought provoking production. And a Yockey/May pairing is always perfect." - MC

"Last night we had the pleasure to see Stray Cat’s production of Steve Yockey’s REYKJAVÍK and wow! What an interesting and incredibly well done show! The open scene brings you right in a way I’ve never seen projectors used. What a rare show right here in the valley that will leave you laughing, pondering, and truly mesmerized. Congrats to the cast and crew on this beautiful piece of art! This is the last weekend to see it and trust me you need to!" - MD

"I made TWO traffic mistakes within 10 minutes of leaving. I was all up in my head. After almost running a red light, I had to have a come to Jesus moment with myself. It’s that good" - DC

"REYKJAVÍK by Steve Yockey at Stray Cat Theatre. I saw this last night…and holy moly was it good! A series of vignettes interconnected through location, theme, and occasionally, characters. It's a thoroughly engaging exploration of intimacy, isolation, power, desire, and disconnection played against the subtle backdrop of Norse mythology. I'd be surprised if this is the only ever production of this beautiful and thought provoking piece. Truly, we need more theatre like this." - JW

"It’s such a good show - thought provoking and beautifully acted and directed. It’s so good! I think it’s been my favourite this season." - HRH

"Sooooo good!" - DL

"Stray Cat Theatre at its very best!  Always bringing unusual theatrical experiences to our theatre loving community! Bravo Ron May !! All of the reviews and hype are correct in that you are presented with a thought-provoking drama along with a thoughtfully cast ensemble! Intimacy Coorinator, Maren Maclean, was masterful in her craft! Following the story of James brought the audience to laughter, gasping at the absurd, feeling the sexual tension and the realization of a life story!"  - LP

“That production was truly many things. One of those things is brilliant. Congratulations. This is one of the best things in the Valley I have seen since I saw their production of Assassins. Stray Cat Theatre is where it is at! I wish I could see this 3 more times. It really was beyond anything I was expecting, and I went in knowing very little except that I was hearing everyone talk about how good it is.” - JT

"Absolutely phenomenal all around. Amazing tech and incredible performances." - LK

"Reykjavík was a beautiful play set in Iceland, filled with an intertwining story of dynamic characters, heart wrenching scenes, and incredible music." - MA

"Stray Cat Theatre's productions are always incredible and otherworldly. I had the incredibly interesting experience of seeing this show tonight. This was one of the rare pieces of theatre that leaves you feeling stunned. An absolute piece of art. Words cannot describe this production. Everyone involved in the making of this show is incredible! And the actors were all stunningly talented. An experience like no other." - SR

“Was it a play or a fever dream, went to Reykjavik tonight - surreal magic, The Northern lights, the talking Ravens, 'the hidden people,' the rent boys, stepping into Stray Cat's Studio Theatre in Tempe to see an intellectually demanding, unapologetically queer dive into something raw and intimate and somehow essential.
Ty Klassen was a triple threat so emotionally agile, vunerable, predatory, anchors the piece, Aaron Cammack in multiple roles found the 'bruise' in his character producing some of the most moving moments. Don't expect an explanation of ghosts or lust, just feel them. Jesus, I had to drive myself home too. Go see this show, support vital visceral theatre.  A 'space' that safe commercial theatre often ignores." - SM

"REYKJAVÍK from Stray Cat Theatre was a fantastic show. If you get a chance to see it you should!" - AE

"The theater, the theater.  Wow. That was fantastic. Only two more nights to catch it. Support local theater." - MO

"Don’t miss out on this one, y’all! Stray Cat and Steve Yockey is always a slam dunk, and this one is a real match made in heaven (or wherever else we end up). My wife and I had the pleasure of sneaking away for my only night off from production, and as dog tired as we were, we couldn’t have been more grateful for the chance to see this masterpiece. This is the kind of show that reminds you why we do what we do — and in my humble opinion, from a technical design perspective, this was the most magnificent production I’ve seen from my favorite local theatre. The lights: jaw dropping. The sound: spectacular. The projections: wow. To be paired with such phenomenal performances and direction, this one will stick with you in more ways than one." - MS

"Amazing show!” - MH

“What an amazing show! Filled with amazingly talented performers. Check it out before it’s gone!” - BM

“Go see this show!” - NS

"I cannot stop thinking about this show. I wasn’t sure I even liked it at first but I’m sure I loved it.
I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it…and again the next morning.
I saw it opening night and I believe my comment to you was f you , Ron May!
The atmosphere was eerie and cool and different from anything I’d ever seen before. The dialogue was disturbing yet compelling and I couldn’t look away. I laughed out loud at inappropriate times and said “what the actual fck just happened ?” I’m pretty sure I need somethings explained to me… It was sad and funny and bizarre all at the same time.
I think I need to see it again.
[Ron May] and Steve Yockey together need to be protected at all costs." - CC

"I saw REYKJAVÍK this afternoon, and it is amazing! Incredibly well done. Lies, love, betrayal, expectations, feeling alone, folklore - all wrapped up with a quest for the Northern Lights. Definitely go see it. By Stray Cat Theatre at Tempe Center for the Arts." - LP

"Another delightfully strange, thought provoking show from Stray Cat Theatre." - CC

"Supernatural. Sensual. And Humanistic." - KO

"Saw another great Play at Stray Cat Theatre. Actors killed it. Go see this." - DF

“Wow.  First rate ensemble work.  Congrats to Ron May and this company.  I agree with this review:  "..a stunningly original world of mystery, sensuality, passion, and menace - book your passage now…Reykjavík is a magical trip.” – DC Theatre.   Go see.” - ML

“REJKJAVÍK at @straycattheatre is fierce and funny, loving and dangerous, heady and physical. @steveyockey76’s voice is unmistakable and I confess I am a huge fan. @straycatrm understands how to make this work sing and stab. @aaron.cammack is sensational and @elizabethbroeder and the whole cast meet the moment. Do not bring children but go to @tempecenterforthearts and take this wild ride.” - BJF

"I’m struggling to talk about how I feel about REYKAVIK. Not because I don’t like it - I love it. In case you missed it the first **FIVE** times Ron directed Steve’s plays, this latest outing joins its siblings as theater beyond what you can ever imagine. It is sublime.
Why I’m struggling is because the very last line in the show had me covering my mouth to keep from sobbing out loud.  It was a culmination of six actors interpreting lines under incredible direction to take my emotions on a roller coaster. Which I think is the best kind of theater.
If you wonder is Ron May and Steve Yockey together are still magic - YES. If you wonder if the cast is incredible  - YES. This show has a hold on my heart. I hope you come to let it grab yours." - BU

“…you’re going to want to see it twice. or more.” - JG

“Loved it. This may be my favorite Steve Yockey show I’ve seen you guys do and I’ve seen them ALL!” - SS

“Don’t miss this. Blown away.” - JK

“Wow. See this ASAP.” - CB

“What if LOVE, ACTUALLY was directed by the Safdie Brothers? MUST SEE show! Absolutely visceral.” - RW

“Go see some cool shit. For real.” - HC

"This is the kind of bold, bizarre, disturbing and utterly captivating theatre that i love…It’s shocking, it’s sexy, it’s scary! It’s everything you could want in a play about desire and how dishonesty unravels us, set against a supernatural backdrop." - ND

"If you like HEATED RIVALRY, you’ll love this one." - LN

"Congratulations to the incredible cast and crew of this B-O-N-K-E-R-S show." - KC

"Wellp… i didn’t take a picture but i promise I saw Reykjavik at Tempe Center for the Arts tonight and (applause emoji x 3)
What a show.
PLEASE do yourself a favor and go see this show.
The storytelling across the board is really, really beautiful.
I found myself feeling all of the feelings. Laughing. Crying. Squeezing Max’s arm.
My theatre cup is full tonight and I’m truly so grateful that this kind of theatre exists in the Valley.
Please go experience it for yourself. Support live theatre. Support these artists.
It really is something special." - MN
