“All New People” features a cast of four, but several film clips that punctuate an odd assortment of scenes use additional actors well-know to Valley theater buffs. Turns out Katie McFadzen’s school principal face is even scarier than her mad face in Junie B. mode.

Michael Peck stars as Charlie, Angelica Howland as Emma, Joseph Kremer as Myron and Kim Richard as Kim. It’s a strong cast, but Peck’s perfectly-weighted performance is superior throughout. Charlie’s a guy who seems to not give a damn, but Peck signals with subtlety his character’s softer side.

“All New People” is filled with fast-paced, oft-funny dialogue.

During a season too sanitized by some, it’s refreshing to find works that tackle the tougher questions but leave us laughing still.
